Starred Question- I think the unit that stood out to me was the news and information unit. I thought that what we learned in that unit as a whole was super important to us as everyday media users. The sections within that unit that I thought were extra noteworthy were the fake news and bias sections. Both of these made me take a step back to analyze life from a different perspective. A big takeaway from this is just the idea that not everything on the internet is true, and it’s important to recognize that.

#1- I think other schools should adopt it. The class itself has a different feel than any of the other classes I’ve taken in school. It obviously still has a decent workload, but it’s nothing I personally couldn’t handle. I feel like this class is important for kids to take, especially in the current world we live in.

#2- A preconceived notion that I had was that the media didn’t play that big of a role in our lives. Now, after I’ve finished the class, I realize that I was wrong. Media has such an important role in our lives whether we want it or not. It controls everything and analyzes everything you do on the internet. This was kind of hard to understand at first, but now it makes so much sense to me.

#7- To current juniors: I would highly recommend you take this class. It has very important information that I think teens like us should know. It has A LOT of information and concepts for you to learn, so you can’t lay back and do nothing during class, but it’s also doable and enjoyable as a whole.

#8- To seniors who have this class: The workload at the beginning might seem like a little much, especially for a language arts class, but it gets easier as the semester goes on. I think you’ll begin to enjoy the material a few weeks in like I did. I hope you get the knowledge that I gained from taking this class.
